Neinstein helps young Canadians take on vaping giant JUUL
Full Story: Neinstein partnered with US-based law firms to successfully represent more than 250 Canadian claimants against JUUL, the vaping manufacturer. We advocated for young individuals who were misled by JUUL’s marketing strategies, which had falsely indicated that their vaping products were a safer alternative to traditional tobacco.
JUUL’s campaigns had aggressively targeted youth — on social media platforms like Instagram — to depict an appealing lifestyle of partying and vaping. They had also directly promoted their products in schools.
The consequences of JUUL’s deceptive advertising were significant, leading to widespread nicotine addiction among the youth. Pursuing claims related to addiction in the U.S. is notably more straightforward than in Canada, which allowed us to secure compensation for over 250 young Canadians facing various health issues, including lung infections and behavioural disorders.
The case was favourably settled out of court, with all involved clients being over the age of 18 at the time of settlement. It has since garnered attention from major news outlets around the world.
